Description

Specific duties include:

Develop acquisition strategies and documents to procure launch services and mission integration activities
Perform requirements planning tasks including review and technical assessments of key mission contractual documentation
Support annual budget planning and execution reviews, as well as technical and programmatic meetings
Perform technical evaluation of contractor proposals
Review and track mission requirements, assess adequacy of verification activities, identify risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation or implementation milestones
Identify and evaluate new or changing requirements, capture emerging risks and recommend plans of action consistent with strategic goals
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues as needed
Support launch vehicle contractor reviews to assess progress and issues in meeting mission requirements
Support contract management activities for ECP forecasting and implementation coordination, award fee evaluation and contractor oversight
Assess strategic impacts of proposed launch vehicle fleet changes
Identify enhancements and assess viability from a programmatic, business and acquisition execution perspective
Verify that recommended acquisition approaches are executable within resource constraints and mission integration risks are identified and mitigated
Assess new entrant launch vehicle provider capabilities and processes
Leverage launch experience to provide support in preparing for and conducting all required meetings, briefings, and readiness reviews
Retain cognizance over launch related studies and provide leadership with timely and relevant assessments
Maintain familiarity with client/customer strategic roadmap and updates to US space policy

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
Must be a US Citizen
Must have a TS/SCI with poly
In addition:

7 years space launch experience
5 years Government acquisition experience
2 years of customer/client experience

Working knowledge of the acquisition lifecycle requirements
Program management experience and a working knowledge of customer/client budgeting and financial processes

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
