JOB POSTING
Applications are being accepted from Engineering students for full-time (Summer 2024)
and part-time positions (academic year 2024-2025)
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (Districts) promote environmental sustainability in California by converting waste into resources such as recycled water, energy and recycled materials.
The Districts' Student Engineer Program is one of the largest Engineering paid student worker programs in the nation. The program allows engineering students that have a career interest in the environmental profession to gain valuable experience during the summer. Participating students are placed in various sections and come together each week to share their work experience and hear technical presentations from some of the Districts' approximately 200 professional engineers. While the majority of our opportunities are for those with a Civil or Environmental Engineering background, each year we also offer several opportunities for Chemical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering students as well. Students may obtain experience in areas such as: recycled water research and production, wastewater and solid waste design and operations, civil and mechanical design engineering, sewer design engineering, structural & architectural design engineering, electrical design engineering, energy recovery, stormwater management, water and air quality, project management, planning and construction.
These internships are 12-week programs. Some positions may allow students to continue working on a part-time basis during the school year. If students are not able to participate during the summer, they may still be contacted for new part-time positions that may become available during the school year.

The score is calculated by a proprietary algorithm that uses Intelligent Machine Learning.
The Relevance Score tells you how well the job opportunity matches your search term or terms.
When not logged in, the system is limited to one search term. Scores for single term matches are usually lower.
When you register, log in, and set up multiple terms prioritized by importance, the jobs found for you will receive a much higher Relevance Score.
