Boeing supports a fleet of 275 C-17 Globemaster III Airlifters in a multiyear, multi-billion dollar sustainment contract. The C-17 is the world’s airlifter of choice and is planned to operate thru 2075. This position leads a diverse group of employees performing Configuration and Program Life Cycle Management responsibilities. This role also leads the Program Level Review (PLR), Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Fielding Control Board (FCB) with direct interface with C-17 USAF customer and C-17 Leadership.

- PLR, CCB and FBC requires strong communication and integration skills as well as systems thinking.
- The successful candidate will have experience with communicating directly with customers both verbally and written and will have an engaged and servant leadership style.
- Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
- Acquire resources who accomplish projects and processes, lead process improvements.
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provide oversight and guidance of project approaches, products and processes.
- The employee will drive integration and quality throughout the organization including via internal and external Change reviews.
- Experience with project scope, schedule, and budget mgt including earned value management will help the incoming employee provide value.
- This position also requires the skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
- This PLM/Configuration Management position reaches across the broad C-17 and BGS organizations so knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines and interaction across the functions will serve the candidate well.
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience on a configuration management (CM) team and/or working closely with a configuration management (CM) team
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 1+ years of experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)
- Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers
- 3+ years of experience completing US Government (USG) financial reports/CDRLS (IPPR, CFSR, PCR, etc)
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the
listed location options. (Long Beach, CA).
