Job Summary
This position works with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students.
Requirements / Qualifications
Credential Required: Applicants must hold a valid Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential or Education Specialist Credential with authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Certified Auditory-Verbal Educator (LSLS Cert. AVT or AVEd.) preferred
Glendale Unified is seeking dynamic educators who exhibit:
• Effective skills in working with English Learner (EL) students
• Strength in working with diverse students
• Experience working at a school is preferred but not required at entry-level.
This position's duties include assessing students and providing speech and language services. Strong collaboration and consulting with teachers and parents are also very important. The speech/language/hearing specialist serves as an integral member of the IEP team. The District also provides an additional stipend granted for an earned doctorate.
