Position Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level experienced Claims Professional to join our dynamic Casualty Claims team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in the insurance industry. As a Claims Professional, you will handle a range of general liability claims, gaining exposure to various claim matters and building a solid foundation for your career.
Responsibilities:
- Point of Contact: Serve as a point of contact for policyholders and brokers regarding recently reported claims.
- Documentation Review: Thoroughly review documentation submitted during claim reporting to understand the details of the incident.
- Fact Summarization: Summarize the facts related to the claim, including the nature of the incident and the alleged injuries. Follow up with involved parties for additional clarification as needed.
- Policy Coverage Analysis: Review relevant insurance policies to confirm coverage details and limits.
- Data Entry and Correspondence: Enter loss details into the claim system and send correspondence as required.
- Severity Assessment: Utilize the collected facts to assess the potential severity of alleged injuries.
- Issue Identification: Flag any issues or concerns and escalate urgent matters to management.
- Correspondence Monitoring: Continuously monitor incoming correspondence for material updates, allowing for reassessment of potential severity.
- Professional Communication: Respond to inquiries related to assigned claims and accounts promptly and professionally.
- Investigation and Evaluation: Conduct thorough investigation, analysis, and evaluation of assigned claims.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance, risk management, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with insurance policies and coverage terms is a plus.
- Insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred.
