• The Parker Meggitt Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing, ending with delivery to the customers.
• The Parker Meggitt is a worldwide leader in multiple Commercial and Military Aerospace product lines, including Fire and Smoke Detection and Extinguishing systems, Bleed Air Overheat detection systems, Actuators, Rudder Pedal Assemblies, Pumps, Fuel Gauging Systems, High-Temperature cables, and more.
• The Parker Meggitt – Simi Valley, CA is also a key supplier to select Energy markets, including nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration Cables. We work directly with the largest global aerospace companies, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and many others.

SPECIFIC WORK DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The Mechanical Engineer will conduct design-engineering activities in the Cable Product Line, including the following: Analysis, product design, testing, and modeling.
• The ideal candidate will provide expertise in electromechanical design and application engineering.
• The Mechanical Engineer will utilize his/her knowledge of parts design, material properties, and engineering theory to develop and sustain the cable product line.
• The Mechanical Engineer will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works on programs serving the defense, aerospace, and nuclear energy markets.
• The ideal candidate shall have experience with the development life cycle activities associated with the conceptual and detailed design, component selection, schematic generation, design documentation, and testing.

The Mechanical Engineer candidate shall:

• Be responsible for maintaining the previously fielded designs and tools
• Assist with the acquisition of knowledge and development of technology regarding RF and industrial cable products, their applications, and manufacturing methods
• Interface directly with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Departments to support the manufacture and testing of RF and industrial cable products and Provide technical input to the Marketing and Contracts Departments.

Required Experiences/Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a concurrent engineering environment.
• Leadership skills and the ability to be a self-starter.
• Modeling experience using SolidWorks.
• Experienced user of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Strong communication and documentation skills are essential

Desired Skills:

• Experience working in a high-reliability aerospace environment.
• Experience with RF and microwave devices and/or systems.
• Experience with aerospace industry standards and specifications.
• Experience with materials properties and selection.
• Ability to perform stress analysis using Cosmos.

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional mechanical engineering experience

Essential Physical/Mental Abilities Required:

• Normal vision or correction to 20/20 including color vision. Conform to company safety policies and procedures.

WORK AUTHORIZATION:

• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent residency is required for most positions.
• Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $65K-$110K plus an annual target bonus.
