North Spring is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Risk Management to join our team. This position involves assisting the Risk Management Director in overseeing and coordinating quality improvement and risk management, medical records, HIPAA Privacy and security activities. Responsible for interpreting and communicating regulations and standards of accrediting bodies and other regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with same. Maintains up-to-date knowledge and professional competence of quality/performance improvement. This position is responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, Tricare and Joint Commission. Key Responsibilities: Primary focus on Risk Management and the interface with our corporate system. Direct oversight of Quality Assurance Coordinators who are tasked with auditing all clinical notes to ensure that the medical records documentation meet the requirements of the regulatory agencies mentioned above. Direct oversight of our Electronic Medical Record System Direct Oversight of the Patient Advocate as well as all reporting requirements pertaining to this area. The Assistant Director with help prepare in-services and educational programs necessary to ensure that all levels of clinical staff are aware of the regulations and expectations of the above named organizations. The Assistant Director must participate directly in any audit of the organization by the above named agencies and assist with reviewing the findings to ensure validity, and developing actions plans. Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the facility. At least two years of recent experience in mental health work with this population. Must know how to gather and analyze data. Must be detail oriented and possess superior documentation skills. Must be articulate, assertive, and able to communicate effectively (verbally and in wiring) with employees and the management team. Must possess a basic understanding of and comfort level with medical terminology, residential treatment, clinical science/pathology and psychiatric disorders. Must be at least 21 years old. Must also demonstrate initiative, tact and good judgement. Must have basic computer skills.
