Job Abstract

Westside Catholic school is seeking a middle school science teacher for grades 5-8. This position requires the teacher to design, plan, and execute science lessons and labs directly related to our middle school science curriculum and STEM standards. The teacher is expected to prepare lesson plans in advance, provide instruction, assign tasks to students, and evaluate student work and progress. The teacher must motivate students with engaging and rigorous lessons. Teacher must provide weekly lab experiences for students incorporating “hands-on” experiments and projects. STEM will be integrated into the curriculum i.e. robotics, engineering. The teacher is responsible for the maintenance of the lab’s STEM equipment and supplies. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate with staff, administration, parents, and students.

Teacher candidates must have a BA or BS and teaching credential.
Candidates must be proficient with technology i.e. Word Processing, presentation
The candidate should have prior teaching experience.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
