Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain productive working relationships with ISTS Chief Information Security Officer, and other ISTS leaders to share information and recommendations regarding security threats, incidents or other security matters.
Manage all monitoring and security work required to assess performance, collaborate and oversee goal setting, and provide feedback on personal development.
Implement Information Security standards and best practices.
Develop and execute procedures for handling incidents, outages, and escalations, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
Implement and maintain robust security measures for both infrastructure and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations.
Qualifications
The Security & Monitoring Lead is responsible for serving as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for all projects, initiatives and applications developed under this contract. The Security and Monitoring Lead must demonstrate expert (a minimum of 5 years) experience and/or knowledge related to:
Develop and operate information systems in a manner that is consistent with GAO policies and procedures.
Develop and implement ISTS security processes to ensure they operate effectively and are compliant with the Federal Information Systems Security Management Act (FISMA) and other relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Develop and implement GAO’s security policy and technical requirements for system design and operations; provide preliminary information security advice and recommendations to ISTS.
Develop information security requirements and engineering solutions for new systems, review system security plans, and make improvement recommendations.
Oversee Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) under this contract and provide oversight in developing security guidelines associated with work under the contract to ensure compliance with appropriate federal requirements.
Experience with SASE and Zero Trust implementations and managing those environments.
Additional Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cybersecurity field
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in infrastructure management, application support, or related roles, with a strong understanding of IT best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
