The Summer Academy Instructor will work under the supervision of Eugene and Ruth Roberts Summer Student Academy program grant Principal Investigator. This is a funded position to help talented High School and undergraduate students successfully make the transition to a professional environment doing research projects.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Serve as a role model for academic and leadership behaviors within a professional environment and meet with students outside of class as needed.
Work closely with the Academy staff to assist with courses, informational meetings, outside activities, student preparation for weekly presentations, poster presentation, events, etc.
Inspire students to approach research activities in a creative and rigorous fashion.
Be reasonably accessible to students and their mentors/supervisors.
Provide assistance, encouragement and suggestions for conflict resolution in cooperation with the PI.
Perform laboratory checks to ensure safety protocols are correctly followed and that the students are mentored appropriately.
Organize and chaperone off campus activities that are part of the Eugene and Ruth Roberts Summer Student Academy program.
Assist the functions of the Eugene and Ruth Roberts Summer Student Academy as time permits.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
High School Diploma.
One to two years related experience.
Microsoft Office experience.
