Job Summary
24/25 Position. Effective for 24/25, the salary will be increased by 75% of the 24/25 funded COLA. Additionally, a 2.5% one-time payment will be paid in June 2025.
Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Program Specialist has advanced training in the education of individuals with exceptional needs and with technical aspects of the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Title V of the California Code of Regulations as it relates to the identification and recommendations for students with disabilities. Program Specialists assist school site special education staff with preparing and convening IEP meetings and working collaboratively with all stakeholders in planning appropriate programming for individuals with exceptional needs, and building professional capacity.
Requirements / Qualifications

Education:
Master's Degree in Special Education or School Psychology preferred.
Experience:
Experience creating Individual Education Programs (IEPs), along with the ability to evaluate an IEP for legal compliance, is required.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in special education programs.
Specialized knowledge of eligibility determination, eligibility under IDEA and California Code of Regulations/ Ed Code, and special education programs and support for students with disabilities.
Evidence of active involvement in district and/or school site special education roles and responsibilities.
Administrative experience is a plus.
Credentials:
Valid K12 Special Education Teaching Credential(s); or Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential; or Health Services Credential; Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing School Psychology;
An Administrative Services Credential or Administrative Services Eligibility Certificate preferred.
