Position Overview:
The Co-op Project Review Specialist is responsible for reviewing documentation for existing cooperative projects to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as the requirements of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Job Responsibilities: - Ensure cooperative projects are underwritten accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain approved/declined cooperative projects lists and manage expiration dates.
- Maintain cooperative projects documentation and requirements as dictated by the agencies and investors.
- Retain and manage project files.
- Ensure cooperatives meet Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.
- Determine eligibility of a project by reviewing (co-op questionnaire, 2 yrs. most recent audited financials, co-op’s insurance, Attorney General amendment , most recent budget if applicable)
- Perform legal reviews of Co-op Ground Lease
- Deliver excellent customer service to Sales and Operations staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Special Assessment – Deferred Maintenance guidelines from 10/2021.
- Knowledge of Ground Lease guidelines in NYC and the 5 boroughs.
- Knowledge of HDFC Co-op Projects.
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Critical Repair requirements from 9/18/2023.
- Knowledge of Local 11 Law in NY, FISP ( Façade Inspection and Safey Program ) and SWARMP.
- Five plus years’ Co-op project review experience.
