Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.
The Beckman Research Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to Join the Laboratory od Dr. Sergio Branciamore.
Branciamore Lab develops advanced computational methods for studying complex biological systems, merging statistical mechanics, dynamical systems, and Bayesian networks. We collaborate on disease research like leukemia, glioblastoma, Alzheimer’s, and sickle cell disease, while also applying our techniques to molecular dynamics simulations of proteins and complexes.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Develop novel probabilistic network reconstruction techniques that are applicable to dynamical systems and/or spatially resolved systems.
Contribute to the creation of software tools that simplify the implementation of sophisticated algorithms and models in extensive biomedical research projects.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of researchers from computational, clinical, and laboratory disciplines such as computational biology, genomics, systems biology, and more for effective problem-solving.
Generate mathematical and evolutionary models to describe disease evolution.
Publish groundbreaking findings in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and present them at conferences and seminars.
Engage in grant writing activities to secure funding for future projects.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
A PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science or Computational Biology.
Strong motivation to work as part of a multidisciplinary group.
Proficiency in programming with at least one programming language.
Familiarity with mathematics/computational methods is preferred.
Knowledge in molecular dynamics, network analysis, statistical mechanics, information theory, population genetics, and other related areas are appreciated.

As an anonymous user, you have probably discovered how easy our system is to use. However, you have just scratched the surface of what we can offer.
We encourage you to Register so you can use our most powerful features: searching with multiple terms, setting up multiple locations, establishing favorite companies, and accessing your search history. If you find a job you like, you can apply directly for it, and then, keep notes on it. We will also keep a lookout for jobs that match your search terms and email you when we find something you may like.
You can register for free and the system is free to use. If you like our system so far, click on Register and unlock the power required by serious job searchers.
Any time you conduct a search, the system shows you job matches, ranked by their Relevance Score (RS).
The score is calculated by a proprietary algorithm that uses Intelligent Machine Learning.
The Relevance Score tells you how well the job opportunity matches your search term or terms.
When not logged in, the system is limited to one search term. Scores for single term matches are usually lower.
When you register, log in, and set up multiple terms prioritized by importance, the jobs found for you will receive a much higher Relevance Score.
