The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is seeking to hire an experienced Research Administrator 3. Operating under the guidance of the Department Chair, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and other departmental leaders, in collaboration with fellow research administrative staff, in this role you will assumes primary responsibility for all pre-award administration tasks related to both intra and extramurally funded research awards for Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs). Leveraging extensive experience as a seasoned research administrator, you will independently develops and oversees research proposals, awards, and transactions pertaining to contract and grant management, ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor policies. Handling proposals and awards of diverse scope, this position requires a comprehensive understanding of complex regulations for thorough data analysis. Additionally, the role involves completing and approving transactions for signature by the manager or other authorized institutional official.
Annual rate: $64,800-$137,600

Required:
High School Diploma;
3-5 years of research administration experience;
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner;
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with various stakeholders;
Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet programmatic and financial needs;
Close attention to detail in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment;
Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel;
Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor’s guidelines;
Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques; Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent administration experience;
Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively;
Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize job functions, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with multiple proposal submission systems;
Experience preparing, managing, and projecting budgets;
Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and resolve complicated financial scenarios;
Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors, federal and state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc
