The VP of Design and Development will lead the strategic path and oversee the creative direction, design and product development.  In this role you will lead, influence, partner, listen and respond. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of our brand and our consumers, and an ability to move where the consumer is heading with an informed understanding of what is now and what is next.?The ideal candidate provides motivational leadership and development to the Design and Development  teams and build rapport and collaborates with cross functional departments.   
 

About the Job

• In depth knowledge of all facets of concept, design, product development, and current best practices. 
• Ability to apply trend forecast and influence product POV during development process using both market information and Brand Filters 
• Ensure the successful implementation of merchandising strategies 
• Lead strategic development of all product design development including color & creative concept, and CAD designs to ensure continuity of unique brand distinction and identity as the company continues to grow.? 
• Lead Design Directors and Senior designers and their teams on prioritization of current and seasonal initiatives to meet corporate calendar dates.?  
• Initiate and manage the calendar and collaborate with Production and Sales on milestone meeting dates for all internal and external partner requirements. 
• Work with Sales on analyzing prior season’s adoption rates by brand and category, from there creating strategic seasonal merchandising plans for each brand and approve with CEO. 
• Present CAD lines and seasonal sales sample lines to key internal and external stakeholders. 
• Work closely with Product Development teams on co-managing the sample process and timeline for critical market week deadlines. Partner with Production and Product Development on designing into achievable cost targets.? 
• Partner with sourcing team with sample tracking, proto reviews, achieve margins and agree on product changes as necessary 
• Review garment fit from design aesthetic perspective and work closely with technical designers. Attend fit sessions. 
• Providing marketing and sales teams with product knowledge and serve as an informational resource. 
• Work with Creative Teams to identify seasonal brand messaging, product key items, and key looks 
• Create a team defined by rich talent, deep and capable bench strength focused on leadership development and strong succession plans that reflect the long-term product and customer focused approach.  
• Develops effective relationships with all Beyond Yoga, LS&Co. partners, our customers and external partners.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree- Design, Fines Arts or business degree a plus 
• Will have 12+ years of experience in active design and product development with at least 8 years of senior leadership experience in a wholesale/retail organization. 
• Demonstrated proficiency managing multiple fast paced, complex projects simultaneously. 
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively and comfortably, working across functions and geographies in a global organization. 
   

The expected starting salary range for this role is $168,000 - $257,500. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
