The SPD Tech/Instrument Tech is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the department following established Infection Control Practices.

• Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.
• Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
• Participate in the department’s performance improvement activities.

Hours from 0600-1430

• Abilityto communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.(required).
• Minimumof one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician or Surgical Tech(preferred).
• Thoroughknowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment usedby the department (required)
• Knowledgeablewith cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques (required).
