As a Dismantler (HVC), you will be responsible for the efficient safe and careful removal of auto parts and usable cores. Essential Job Duties:
Dismantle salvaged and wrecked vehicles for reusable parts, including HVC (High-Value Cores) and scrap metals within the suggested time constraints in a safety conscious manner, taking care not to damage valuable parts.
Inspect, check the quality of parts, label, prepare and sort materials or products for recycling or resale internally and externally
Must be able to use and maintain hand tools and designated equipment necessary to perform job duties.
Must be able to follow procedures regarding changing the status of cars, identifying cars requiring special handling, such as airbags and electric car batteries, moving to inventory, and generating required reports.
Assume other duties as assigned.
Pay - $18-20hr based on experience
Job Requirements:
Experience: Must have hands-on automotive repair experience.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have a basic understanding of the function of each part of a vehicle. Must use hand tools, air tools, and torches.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment: Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently. Subject to intense physical labor and repetitive lifting. Must be able to lift at least 75lbs. Must be able to work outside in various types of weather. Works with hydraulic oils, motor oils, antifreeze, and diesel fuels.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as an office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights. Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels and occasional inclement driving conditions.
