MEN’S CHRISTIAN LIFE DISCIPLESHIP COORDINATOR POSITION SUMMARY:
The CLDP Coordinator will manage and monitor the daytime and/or evening activities of the Christian Life Discipleship Program (CLDP) residents at the Union Rescue Mission to promote a Christlike community that shows respect and fosters a safe recovery environment.
MEN’S CHRISTIAN LIFE DISCIPLESHIP COORDINATOR CORE WORK PRINCIPLE:
Colossians 3:23 is the foundation of URM’s standard for employment, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” The goal for each employee is to enrich and sustain a humble heart attitude; to enrich and sustain a mindset of serving others, treating them with kindness and truth; and to enrich and sustain a zealous desire for achieving work objectives without any ulterior motives or agendas.
MEN’S CHRISTIAN LIFE DISCIPLESHIP COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitor and supervise CLDP resident activity in the facility, including all community areas in the dormitories.
Assist in maintaining order and safety, including observing and reporting resident behavior in compliance with URM and CLDP Behavioral, Health, and Safety Policies.
Prepare and teach Bible Studies, devotions, and life skills classes for program participants.
Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized educational and vocational programs and goal setting to help facilitate short- and long-term growth.
Assist in developing a mentorship and accountability structure to help foster a sense of community among the program participants.
Assist with individual and group counseling, as needed.
Assist in room management for program participants.
Assist program participants with legal, mental health, and medical appointments.
Assist the ministry team with crisis intervention for program participants.
Serve as a liaison for professional services provided at URM, as needed.
Attend all ministry staff meetings, URM annual events, and program graduations.
Promote Christian virtues in all relationships throughout the Mission as described in Matt. 7:12, Ephesians 4:2-3, & Phil. 2:3-8, teach and influence guests (Titus 2:2-8) to love in one accord for Christ and His kingdom(1Cor.13:1-7).
Conduct other tasks and projects as assigned by the Program Manager.

Encourage guests in their faith and growth in Jesus Christ.
Requirements
MEN’S CHRISTIAN LIFE DISCIPLESHIP COORDINATOR EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree and/or ministry certificate in related field, preferred.
1+year’s progressively responsible experience in pastoral/church staff and/or social services/ community relations environments.
MEN’S CHRISTIAN LIFE DISCIPLESHIP COORDINATOR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Basic skills in planning, organizing, communication/counseling, and supervisory/leadership skills.
A thorough knowledge of the clients' behavior, character and emotional issues served at URM and Hope Gardens.
Function in a manner that respects the physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual boundaries of others.
Ability to manage time, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond to emergencies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proven ability to lead by example in promoting a biblical model that is representative of URM’s Christian cultural values by having a humble heart attitude, common sense in treating guests with kindness and truth; and zealous in achieving work objectives without any personal agendas.
