What will you be doing in this role?
The Patient Service Representative II, Cell Therapy Program, provides administrative support to the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program. Responsibilities include: submit and verify insurance eligibility for BMT patients as back up; provide reports of patient admissions and discharges to insurance providers, financial coordinator, and internal ancillary staff; schedule patients and donors for pre-transplant evaluation studies; assist in the registration of patients and donors; communicate patient schedules to house wide recipients; coordinate patient selection meetings; communicate and escort patients and caregivers to the Program Coordinators; assist in performance improvement projects related to patient satisfaction and quality outcomes; solve problems and resolve issues within office resources and offer viable alternatives and solutions; handle high volume of work, managing competing deadlines and changing priorities; applies a detailed knowledge of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program and its interrelations with other Cedars-Sinai Health System programs and services with a focus on enhancing the continuum of care as it relates primarily to handoff communication between the various services required for bone marrow transplant patients; ability to work as part of a team and establish cooperative working relationships with administrators, physician, peers and the public; assists with reviewing and updating systems and processes to keep them efficient and in compliance with CSHS policies, JCAHO and other outside agency requirements. Covers for support functions in the absence of others and is engaged in a full range of office activities.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
2 + years of experience working with insurance companies and obtaining authorizations.
Two years office and administrative experience preferred.
