This is a contract-to-direct opportunity, expected to transition to a permanent role within 6 months.
What You'll Do:
Electrical Design (35%)
Translate your design vision into clear sketches and markups.
Conduct thorough field inspections to understand existing plant conditions.
Strategically route trays, conduits, and cables for optimal efficiency.
Design the layout of new equipment for maximum space and resource utilization.
Perform preliminary motor, instrument, and control installation designs.
Handle necessary engineering calculations.
Collaborate with other disciplines to achieve the most cost-effective project solutions.
Ensure design accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Craft loop sheets, elementaries, system architecture diagrams, and other wiring schematics.
Leverage Arc Flash study insights to make informed recommendations.
Project Management & Business Development (65%)
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Lead the scope development process through client interaction.
Effectively communicate project scope needs to designers and engineers.
Obtain quotes for engineering services, equipment, materials, and other project necessities.
Craft client scope documents, bid packages, and lead bid meetings for evaluation.
Generate material requests and contract requisitions.
Oversee procurement and construction activities.
Coordinate project safety, schedule, and other critical aspects.
Spearhead project checkout and startup activities.
Manage and control documents generated throughout the project lifecycle.
Deliver project documents to the client for permanent storage.
Identify and pursue new client opportunities within the scope of your expertise.
Review project scopes, ensuring they align with client reliability expectations.
What We're Looking For:
An Engineering Degree (any discipline)
Proficiency in CAD software
A minimum of 5 years' experience creating Electrical Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for industrial projects
Proven experience with loop sheets, wiring diagrams, flow meters, and control symbols
A passion for building and exceeding client expectations (a PLUS!)
Experience in the Pulp & Paper Industry (a PLUS, but not required)
A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (a PLUS, but not required)
The Offer:
Competitive starting salary of $40-$50 per hour (based on experience)
Potential for overtime pay (time and a half)
Minimum 40-hour workweek with the opportunity to work independently
