We are seeking an individual to work as a Clinical Neuropsychologist at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. This position requires on-site work at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.
This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:
(1) Develop new protocol-specific tests related to protocols under study in consultation with National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) staff. Customized testing may include computerized batteries designed to address specific patient abilities, such as reaction time testing, smell testing, or speech measures.
(2) Utilize knowledge of a broad range of neuropsychological testing and current literature to advise NIMH staff on appropriate testing options for achieving the protocol goals. Testing shall include standard and customized tests of intelligence and other neuropsychological domains, including but not limited to learning/memory, personality, mood in support of the NIH intramural research program.
(3) Perform neuropsychological assessment of adults and children under the direction of NIMH staff. Responsible for conducting interviews (of research subjects and family informants) and administer and score tests accurately.
(4) Assist in collation of research results for publications
(5) Conduct analysis and interpretation of test results consistent with best practices in the field of neuropsychology
(6) Provide expert consultation regarding study design and analysis and use of psychological instruments.
(7) Prepare and provide written and verbal feedback and reports for the referral source and to research subjects (upon request). Document reports on the patient’s electronic medical record. Reports shall include deliverables documenting all neuropsychological and psychological tests administered, individual performance on the tests as compared with normative data, interpretation of the data based on best practices in the neuropsychology field, and numerical test data for individual patients.
(8) Conduct pre and post-operative neuropsychological assessment of patients undergoing various medical procedures. Assess the cognitive status of potential candidates for neurosurgical procedures such as deep brain stimulation or ablation.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor ideally would have:
(1) Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
(2) Certified or board eligible as a clinical neuropsychologist by the American Board of Professinoal Psychology
(3) Minimum of 2 years of experience perform neuropsychological assessment of adults and children
(4) Research experience that includes study management, working with special populations (children, adolescents, adults, families, and elderly), clinical assessments, making recommendations for appropriate referrals, and practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
