Essential Responsibilities
- Drives van to deliver/pickup such items as cooked and raw food products, paper goods, cleaning supplies, correspondence to on and off-campus locations.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Always drives in a safe manner, following all posted speed limits and traffic regulations.
- Loads/off-loads truck.
- Completes daily pre-operational assessment and checklist on the vehicle.
- Collects cash deposits from assigned satellite sites and delivers to Main Hospital.
- Works in partnership with Einstein’s Leads, Retail Cooks and Storeroom/Delivery Assistant to confirm the accuracy of orders being filled by completing checklists for Memory Care.
- Delivers correct quantities of items to correct locations according to schedule.
- Transfers all items in a manner that preserves quality and safety from van to designated delivery area.
- Cleans inside of truck including taking it for monthly wash.
- Maintains and checks the Vehicle Maintenance Log and immediately notifies the Director of Nutrition Service of any damage to the vehicle or needed maintenance and repairs.
- Assists in maintaining organization, proper labeling, dating, and rotation of product in dry storage, coolers and freezers in Renker Kitchen for Einstein’s deliveries.
- Participates in the planning and transportation needs for special events.
- Attends training monthly department meeting and training.
- Follows safety and sanitation guidelines established by the department and Medical Center.
- Wears the prescribed uniform including name badge. Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Practices safe lifting techniques.
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Successfully completes annual Drivers Safety Course and Golf Cart Safety Net-learning Module.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment; ability to perform job safely.
- Safely operates assigned vehicle and maintains routine care, including having vehicle washed as needed, and keeping the interior clean and free of clutter.
- Other duties may be assigned.
