Responsibilities
We are seeking a Part Time Communications Specialist/Technical Editor to work 32 hours/week onsite in Reston, Va who will be responsible for:
Independently execute technical writing activities in support of the Inspector General (IG) strategy, planning, execution, and reporting.
Take detailed notes and facilitate meetings as a key aspect of the role.
Write, re-write, and/or edit reports of investigation, news release, memorandums technical documents, correspondence, reports, and related publications to ensure compliance with established standards for format.
Acquire subject knowledge through stakeholder interviews, observing the performance of mission execution methods, and analyzing user feedback to improve documentation quality and relevance.
Ability to develop strong relationships with senior leaders across the organization to understand key business priorities.
Conduct quality reviews of materials prior to publication and distribution.
Qualifications
Requires a BA/BS and 18 years of experience, a master's and 10 years of experience, or no degree with 24 years of experience.
Requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph
Ability to work independently, with strong oral and written communication skills to communicate technical content and documentation clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences
Proficiency in document editing software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word)
Expert interpersonal skills for acquiring subject knowledge through various methods
Strong organizational and project management skills

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
