ROLE SUMMARY
In DevSecOps, we are focused on building a cultural and engineering practice within Pfizer Digital, that breaks down barriers and opens collaboration between DEVelopment, SECurity, and OPerationS disciplines in our organization. We do this by focusing on our people, building automated processes that reduce waste, monitoring, and tool guidance, to ensure we can deliver software faster and more securely.
The Sr. Manager, DevSecOps – Software Testing & Quality Assurance will work within the DevSecOps testing domain, and reports to the Director, Portfolio & DevSecOps Enablement.
Key accountabilities:
Collaborates with global DevSecOps Steering Committee, Leadership Teams, DevSecOps Product Owners and Customers to develop and deliver DevSecOps testing strategies, capabilities and toolchain roadmaps.
Focuses on activation, customer needs and customer experience within the domain to ensure that customer value is maximized.
Acts a subject matter expert of the principles, concepts and theories advancing knowledge of software testing & quality assurance.
Assists in defining best practice DevSecOps processes, tools, and methods to create an optimal software development lifecycle.
Balances a global view of capability advancement and support work while working with product and support teams to set priorities for delivery.
Understands and ensures all relevant compliance initiation and periodic processes are followed and supported.
Monitors and measures activation, customer experience and KPIs across the DevSecOps test management domain and issues updates to stakeholders.
Builds a collaborative community and feedback loops to help shape strategy and priorities.
Understands DevSecOps testing software, cloud hosting and infrastructure challenges and assists Product Owner with major troubleshooting problems.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning:
Uses innovative thinking and knowledge to challenge the status quo and helps drive identification, quantification and proposal of new DevSecOps software testing and quality assurance practices, processes and solutions.
Partner with Product Owners, Product Group, SteerCo, Customers and critical partners to get feedback, build strategies and roadmaps aligned with the overall Digital strategy.
Communicates a compelling and inspired direction for testing domain; talks beyond today; talks about possibilities; is optimistic; creates mileposts and symbols to rally support behind the direction; makes the directions sharable by everyone across a large organization.
Plans the multi-year roadmap for tools additions, replacements, release, maintenance, and product schedules with Product Owner and stakeholders to avoid conflicts and ensures alignment with direction of strategy, future practices, and goals.
Communication & Adoption:
Lead large practice, process and tooling changes at a global level across many different customer types within a regulated environment.
Can build an active and engaged community within testing and software quality assurance domain, across a matrixed environment, to help deliver better outcomes for Pfizer.
Helps to elevate understanding and standard of software testing across community through education and promotion.
Communicates clearly across a variety of communication settings; prepares and delivers regular updates on status or ideas, both in written and presentation format, to customers stakeholder and product groups.
Service Optimization:
Works proactively with Product Owners and large team of contractors and acts with a customer service mindset and demeanor; quick to offer help to stakeholders.
Gets customer feedback and uses it for improvements in products and services.
Provides point of accountability for escalation and follow up of items requiring DevSecOps support.
Supports disaster recovery planning, testing, inspection readiness and regulatory board(s) audits, as required.
Technical Skills:
Leads exploration of new technologies, and new systems/configurations for systems in scope for software testing, digital validation and quality assurance.
Understands the overall technology landscape related to software delivery, including portfolio/ project management tools, collaboration tools, source code management, security, testing, infrastructure as code tools and more.
Owns decisions, while collaborating with key stakeholders, around setting direction for DevSecOps test management toolchains.
Understands cloud hosting systems involved (including AWS) or on-premise configurations and can support in creatively and logically troubleshooting problems.
Understands databases such as MySQL, Mongo and integration technologies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Information Technology, Software Engineering or related discipline.
3+ years in working with and influencing senior leaders (Directors and above) and leading meetings with cross-functional IT and business leads for software testing and quality assurance.
7+ years minimum relevant experience building & delivering global solutions on multi-functional platforms.
5+ years of leadership experience in managing cross functional team members across distributed sites.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a high degree of complexity, high volume and multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of enabling teamwork in a matrix environment.
Effective diplomacy and influencing skills.
Ability to work in Agile, Scaled Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps methodologies.
Demonstrated aptitude and attitude to get immersed in the resolution of technical challenges and technical advancements.
Understanding of various regulatory requirements and in delivering and maintaining solutions which must be maintained in accordance with compliance standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree preferred.
Pharmaceutical or life sciences experience strongly preferred.
Expertise in DevSecOps test and lifecycle domains and various system offerings within these areas (including Tricentis qTest & Vera, OpenText ALM, PyTest, Opkey, Browserstack etc.).
Experience with managing cloud hosted systems (including AWS) or on-premise configurations.
SQA, DevSecOps or Agile certifications preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly; shift direction with just enough information; and operate effectively in grey areas.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
