Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Civil Engineering team, of the Mid-Atlantic sector, based in our Washington, DC office, with the option of working in our other offices: Fairfax, VA, Richmond, VA and Towson, MD.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Design land development projects for residential, commercial and municipal development.
- Design of site and infrastructure improvements including grading, dry and wet utilities, erosion sediment control, and storm water management
- Prepare roadway, grading, drainage, water and sewer modeling and plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D or Microstation and Open Roads Designer or CONNECT.
- Prepare traffic, drainage and utility reports.
- Prepare supporting calculations, construction specifications, and permitting in various jurisdictions.
- Prepare construction cost models and engineer’s opinion of probable cost for projects through various stages of development including due diligence to final construction document submittal for bid.
- Work within defined scope, schedule and budget parameters.
- Communicate as appropriate to directors, project manager, and project team about questions, concerns, progress and results.
- Work in an integrated team with various disciplines and clients.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and locations as necessary.
- Processing plans with regulatory agencies and stakeholders for plan approval.
What your experience looks like
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum of EI certification, PE license strongly preferred
- 3+ years of site/civil engineering experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation Open Roads.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Desire to work in a team environment.
- Drainage Design and Report experience.
- Utility Design experience.
- Excellent technical writing.
The pay range for this role is $75,000 to $105,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
