As the Awake Overnight Youth Counselor on the team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for youth and will intervene as necessary to assist the youth in developing skills for growth and maintaining stabilization. The Awake Overnight Youth Counselor will have the opportunity to provide crisis support, facilitate daily groups and individual sessions, and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team in daily clinical treatment planning for youth.
ABOUT VENTURA COUNTY CRISIS SERVICES
Seneca's Ventura County Crisis Services program offers a spectrum of behavioral health care crisis services to support youth and their families. These services provide safe refuge for young people who have experienced profound mental health needs including psychiatric evaluation or hospitalization. Services include crisis stabilization and short-term acute residential treatment, as well as transition and planning services to return youth to a setting in the community with stability.

Responsibilities
Engage youth in groups focused on supporting youth in developing coping skills, and other therapeutic activities.
Provide stabilization services for youth that include individualized intervention, safety planning, behavioral intervention and coping skills education.
Maintain accurate documentation and paperwork including, mental health notes, incident reports, and timesheets.
Intervene with the clients' behavior modification programs as needed, this may include physical management of clients as necessary.
Provide transportation for youth and families when necessary.
Provide supervision for visits with family when necessary.
Participate in weekly supervision.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree.
At least 21 years of age.
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.
Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption.
PREFERRED:
Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Experience working with youth or families providing mental health services.
