Job Summary:
The Academic Coordinator for High School Programs reports to the Executive Director of Lifelong Learning with a secondary reporting line to the Director of High School Programs. The Academic Coordinator provides advanced and diversified academic and program support services for the Early College Dual Enrollment and Early College Summer programs. Responsibilities include creation of courses taken by high school students, providing high school partners with course syllabi, tracking of partnership agreements, and processing of other requests from high school partners.
The incumbent is expected to work independently and collaboratively on day-to-day tasks and special short- and long-term projects, as assigned by the Director of High School Programs.
Required Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
2. A minimum of three years of work experience in a complex office environment. Prior college/university experience a plus.
3. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills. Well organized, independent, and collaborative in carrying out responsibilities. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, both inside and outside the university and demonstrate sensitivity to student needs.
4. Personal computer proficiency for word processing, spreadsheet, and data management applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with Ellucian Colleague and Elevate a plus. Ability to quickly learn new programs/applications.
5. Ability to manage sensitive issues with decorum and confidentiality.
6. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
