Basic Function:

Identify and address Spanish clients/family’s needs and concerns who are dependent upon alcohol/drugs; provide assessment, crisis intervention and other services to assist our client/family in the treatment process.

Responsibilities:

• Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
• Provide chemical dependency assessment and/or treatment for Spanish clients under supervision by licensed professional, within the range of program services.
• Act as an advocate for program participants with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services as appropriate in order to make referrals and conduct follow-ups.
• Provide individual and family counseling; engage Spanish clients and families.
• Provide outreach and case management to our Spanish population.
• Prepare written reports, timely and accurate client record documentation and summaries for consultation according to program standards and professional ethics.
• Participate in curriculum development and supervision of Spanish clients.
• Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives

Requirements:

• Combination of experience and education normally represented by a High School Diploma with 12 years relevant work experience required. Have completed 40 hours of education in chemical dependency counseling/clinical methods.
• Must speak both Spanish and English.
• Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English.
• Must have a CDCA certification.
• Must have knowledge and experience working with alcohol/drug assessment and case management.
• Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships with in the Spanish community.
• Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must possess group work skills.
• Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with a team of professional staff desirable.
• Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check
