The Ontario City Library is seeking a proactive, collaborative individual to provide clerical and technical support to its operations. The Library Clerk role entails maintaining library materials and assisting library patrons.

The City of Ontario reserves the right, if necessary, to accept only the first fifty (50) applications from applicants that meet the qualification guidelines below. Additionally, the following procedures will apply:
- Separate Promotional and Open (external) Eligibility Lists will be established.
- The Promotional Eligibility List will be comprised of current City employees (full or part-time) who meet the minimum qualifications and successfully complete any required selection processes.
- The Open Eligibility List will consist of external applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and successfully complete any required selection processes.
- The Hiring Department will consider the Promotional Eligibility List prior to considering candidates on the Open Eligibility List.

Education
High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
Experience
Six months of clerical support or retail support experience.
Licenses
Valid Class C California driver's license and an acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment.
NOTE: A valid Class C California driver's license is required at time of appointment.
Special Requirements
The ability to work evenings and weekends.
Desirable
Customer service experience in a retail environment.
Circulation experience in a library setting.
Ability to speak Spanish.
