What’s a typical day as a Molding Operator Technician? You’ll be:
• Operating molding machines and performing quality checks
• Measuring, examining, and testing molded part units to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions
• Adjusting machines or fixtures as necessary
• Documenting mold change and machine adjustments, troubleshooting, and performing equipment maintenance
• Installing and removing molds and mold tools
• Maintaining mold and equipment through a detailed PM Program
• Ensuring a clean and organized environment
• Collaborating with production personnel to meet requirements and make adjustments as needed
• Providing molded components in a timely manner to meet production schedules
• Generating documentation for traceability and reproducibility
• Working with quality and manufacturing departments to ensure quality and meet company standards
• Coordinating repairs with the mold shop as needed
• Setting up and watering molds, robots, and other equipment
• Conducting first piece inspections and performing advanced mold/press maintenance
• Troubleshooting machine issues and identifying root cause
• Driving continuous improvement strategies and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Training other team members as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have basic shop math and computer skills
• Possess basic machine troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve mechanical issues
• Can work independently and be proactive
• Are able to analyze, interpret, and report data based on machine performance
• Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Are eager to learn, grow, and adapt to changing business needs
• Have a willingness to assist other cross-functional groups
