Job Summary The purpose of this role is to support requirements from business stakeholders for continually evolving analyses and views into the data in IEEE's repositories. The data analyst will act as a technical partner for stakeholders to get access to the data in forms that meet their expectations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, a deep understanding of data structures and relationships, and broad experience with the query languages and tools used for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
The incumbent will be expected to work very closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and to independently address most of these, often within very tight timelines. Key to this role is the ability to quickly provide solutions for ad-hoc requests using the most expedient tools and methods, but also to identify areas for optimization and operationalization where possible.
This role has no direct reports and the successful candidate will work under moderate supervision as part of a technical team including data engineers and software developers.
Key Responsibilities- Build working relationships with business stakeholders across IEEE to understand and document current and upcoming data requirements
- Build working relationships with data owners across IEEE to identify where the required data can be sourced from
- Retrieve, cleanse, merge, and analyze data from different sources to expeditiously provide the reports, charts, and other visualizations that meet business requirements
- Prepare for and make presentations to stakeholders when required
- Identify opportunities for filling data gaps and workflow improvements and work with the technical team to address these
- Support the team's initiatives in operational improvements and the development of data analytics-based tools and reporting

Skills and Requirements - Must have excellent analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of data structures and relationships
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels in the organization
- Must have advanced SQL skills and a good understanding of databases
- Must have a good understanding of statistical analysis techniques
- Must have advanced Excel skills
- Experience building dashboards with Tableau or similar visualization tools preferred
- Understanding of statistical modeling techniques preferred
- Experience with Python or similar programming language preferred
