Job Summary/Basic Function
The Graduate Student Assistant for the Dr. Rita Smith Wade-El Intercultural Center contributes to fulfilling the mission of the Center by researching, evaluating, and planning programs and services in conjunction with the Director.
Required Qualifications
Acceptance into a Millersville University graduate program.
Willingness to support diversity and inclusion issues, especially those related to higher education.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies both individually and in groups.
Ability to organize and work independently on assigned tasks
Availability and willingness to work evening and weekends
Previous experience in event planning and diversity and inclusion issues.
Willingness to take instructions/guidance from supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
Job Duties
1. Assist the Director of the Intercultural Center in all operational and programmatic efforts for the Intercultural Center, including but not limited to the planning, implementation, research and evaluation diversity and inclusion programs and trainings.
2. Research best practices and provide support for heritage and history months.
3. Assess all programs and initiatives related to the center.
4. Research and seek opportunities for enhancing resources available to marginalized students.
5. Coordinate and supervise Intercultural Center volunteers.
6. Meet with students to discuss concerns they have regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.
7. Assist in promoting events and programs through emails, flyers, and other forms of communication.
8. Attend and co-lead weekly staff meetings.
9. Participate in diversity related campus wide committees on behalf of the Intercultural Center.
