The Payload Launch Sites Support Services
(PLSSS) Program within LM Space provides all
launch processing support functions for Office of
Space Launch (OSL). One of the program's two
primary operating locations is Vandenberg AFB,
CA. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope
include satellite launch processing, satellite
transport operations, satellite propellant loading
operations, and satellite processing facilities
O&M, clean room ops, and safety and
environmental services. Key elements of the
program scope include spacecraft launch
preparations, spacecraft transportation
operations, and processing facilities O&M.
As a member of the PLSSS contract team, in the
Operations and Security Center (OSC), you
will monitor electronic security, facility and other
associated systems in support of satellite launch
operations.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• Perform physical security checks of various
facilities & monitor security perimeters as
required
• Perform escort duties in/around numerous
facilities
• Acknowledge & investigate alarms; make
notifications
• Compile data for reports
• Provide system and facility status, and log
information in proper formats
• Assist others in collection of data, testing, and
evaluation of the security system
• Perform other functions including visitor
control, badging and package receipt/X-ray
• Perform other related duties as assigned by
supervision
Basic Qualifications :
Basic qualifications (BQs) are the
minimum requirements for a candidate to
be considered for a position, 3 to 5 BQs

Candidates must be able to work in a launch site
environment, including ability to climb stairs and
wear breathing apparatus. Ability to work
overtime is a requirement. • Multi-tasking, self-starter with the ability to
work in an environment with evolving
requirements and dynamic schedules
• Experience with electronic security monitoring
• Experience with security system applications
• Experience with video monitoring/assessment
• Experience auditing daily operations
• Experience with visitor control/badging
• Experience with emergency management
• Experience with escorting in and around
facilities for 8 hrs/day, and possibly up to 12
hours/day • Ability to work on computer workstations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Applications
• Possess strong customer service skills
• Must be able to work in a launch site
environment
• Must be a US citizen, will be subject to a
government security investigation, and must
meet eligibility requirements for an elevated
clearance for access to classified information.
• Ability to work all shifts and extended shifts in
a 24/7, 365 day-a-year operations environment
