JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Responsible for day-to-day supervision and operation of an area assigned pharmacy. Could make decisions that may affect the division, department and/or GHS Systems financial and performance objectives and strategic results. May assist in the development of budget for area or provide input to manager/director on budget for area. Immediately supervises employees in the area, including education and training. May provide information or documentation to manager to assist with performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary action or terminations. Performs tasks as Registered Pharmacist.

7. Functions as clinical resource to staff registered pharmacists and other pharmacy staff.

Serves as a resource and advisor when requested.
Ensures employee health processes are followed and assist in employee incidents. Responds appropriately to staff requests on ethical and legal questions.
Assists the manager in the performance evaluation process for staff.
Completes the scheduling of employees, based upon census and required skills.
Works with educator in identifying educational needs of the staff.
Collaborates with manager regarding daily activities of the department.
8. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Maintains competency required for job function / position.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5 years experience in hospital pharmacy practice preferred.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
PharmD preferred.
SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Current Louisiana Pharmacy license.
HIPAA REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records without limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, medical records related to quality/data, patient financial information,3rd party billing, information related to patient location, religious beliefs, research information, public health records, employee prescriptions, and/or investigatory information.
