Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a part-time Staff Assistant (Financial Aid Coordinator for the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) – Financial Aid Office. The duties of the Financial Aid Coordinator are to provide administrative support to the Financial Aid office, including but not limited to greeting students, and assisting the staff with time-sensitive projects. The Financial Aid Coordinator will disseminate financial aid information to students via emails and telephone calls. In addition, the candidate will assist counselors with follow-up requests and correspondences.
This candidate must be able to teach and provide guidance on technical information (website, portal) to students, co-workers and work-study staff; work well with other offices and departments and be a team player. This candidate is the main point of contact for the flow of communication with students, both in-person and over the phone, to answer financial aid questions whenever possible, while referring more complex inquiries to the appropriate counselors.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: - Provide administrative support to the Financial Aid office, including but not limited to greeting students, and assisting the staff with time-sensitive projects.
- Disseminate financial aid information to students through emails and telephone calls, ensuring that they are informed about available financial aid options and procedures.
- Teach and provide guidance on technical information related to the university’s website and portal to students, co-workers, and work-study staff.
- Collaborate effectively with other offices and departments, working as a team player to ensure smooth operations and communication across different areas of the university.
- Act as the primary point of contact for students, both in-person and over the phone, answering their financial aid questions to the best of your ability, while referring more complex inquiries to the appropriate counselors.
