What you will be doing
This position will report to the Director of Customer and Market Intelligence, who resides in the Marketing organization. The role is central to building on our existing capabilities to track, measure and provide strategic guidance to the broader executive team on competitive blunting opportunities and growth terrains. The Sr. Manager’s work expands our understanding of shopper behavior both in and outside our stores and objective evaluations of market impacts to identify opportunities across our diverse store network.
In this role, the Sr. Manager will work closely with partners in the Merchandising, Real Estate & Capex orgs to measure key competitive initiatives and their underlying impact to ACI stores. Based on findings, the Sr. Manager will be responsible for strategy & recommendation development including presenting results to leadership across the org. In addition, The Sr. Manager will develop best practices for measurement, education, and drive awareness as data-driven change agent.
The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA, Boise, Idaho, or one of our main regional offices in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX
The salary range is $ 102,700 to $ (143,800) annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.
Main responsibilities
Leverage research, analytics, and industry reports to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
Monitor and analyze competitor activity leveraging internal analytics and key partner tools designed to statistically measure impact
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven business strategies.
Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
Stay up to date with industry developments and emerging trends.
Manage ongoing data feeds and bring new features/capabilities online in a timely manner.
Advocate for the use of data and testing to drive growth, including nurturing a culture of fact-based decision making.
Be a “business expert”, knowledgeable of current and future trends in the business, industry and information technology and systems, and create innovative solutions to business problems.
Manage project timelines and communicate with stakeholders.
Gain a thorough understanding of existing data capabilities while challenging and improving and future-proofing our data capabilities/products.

Familiarity with statistical modeling, segmentation, linear regression, and hypothesis testing.
Strong presentation skills including building final deliverables.
Ability to story tell & present findings making complex insights simple.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Project management skills with proven ability to identify risks.
Team orientation and eagerness to build a diverse network of colleagues.
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant business experience (grocery / retail preferred) including analysis, reporting, and developing recommendations.
Experience with 3rd party tools common to the grocery industry and competitive impact measurement .
Knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Experience working with third-party data partners (Circana, Nielsen, Symphony Retail, dunnhumby, etc).
BA/BS degree in Statistics, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
