Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Sr. Director, Employee Experience & Labor Relations, the HR Business Partner assesses and anticipates human resources-related needs; provides input on workforce and succession planning as well as plans organizational unit restructuring; develops and nurtures partnerships to bridge the divide between management and employees; consults regularly with faculty and management and provides guidance when appropriate; collaborates with colleagues in human resources to develop policies, programs and solutions; analyzes data trends and metrics to inform decisions; mediates and resolves employee relation issues; conducts thorough and objective investigations when necessary; finds ways to build morale, improve workplace relationships, and boosts productivity and retention; ensures regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; interprets human resources policies for faculty and staff; performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or 3 years’ experience as a HR Consultant, HR Manager or HR Business Partner.
Demonstrated management consulting and management skill building experience.
Experience in handling employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, interpreting and applying labor laws and providing consultation to management on performance management, organization design and employee engagement matters.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.

Knowledge and practical application of all HR disciplines and practices. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong collaboration skills and the ability influence at all levels of an organization. Excellent interpersonal, written presentation and verbal communication skills. Recognized as self-directed and motivated with a positive attitude.
