As an important team member of the Department of Medicine, you will play a critical part in overseeing all aspects of pre- and post-award administration for research awards. In support of our Principal Investigators (PIs), you will analyze and devise effective solutions for a wide range of issues and challenges. You will handle complex proposals, including grants and contracts that involve task budgets, option years, multiple investigators, and numerous sub-awards. You will also be responsible for organizing, planning, establishing, and monitoring fiscal budget management for contracts, grants, gifts, endowments, and privately funded projects associated with faculty research programs. We’ll look to you for expert guidance and counsel on intricate matters related to research administration, including compliance with regulations and standards.
We’re seeking a highly-motivated, deadline-driven, detail-oriented individual with:
Three or more years of research administration experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance/administration preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Exceptional organizational and prioritizing abilities
Ability to analyze financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, and initiate corrective actions
Expertise in creating and maintaining administrative and financial files
Computer proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent writing abilities
Knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
Target annual rate: $64,800-$137,600

Required:
3-5 years of Research Administration experience
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, external collaborators and administration and to work as a member of a team
Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet the programmatic and financial needs of PIs and the department, while complying with University and funding agency policies and regulations.
Analytical skills to assess financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and initiate corrective actions
Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively as well as independently balance the various tasks to ensure deadlines are met
Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel, to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately
Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor’s guidelines
Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/administration or experience equivalent
