You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.
As a Customer Engineer, you will work with Technical Sales teams to differentiate and communicate the growth of Google Cloud to our clients. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, engaging in proof-of-concepts, and troubleshooting potential roadblocks. You will also travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events as needed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$214,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Build partner specific, go-to-market solutions to reduce business cycles and drive partner business as measured through pipeline and business growth.
- Own the technical relationship with partners, empowering them to drive a successful pilot or proof of concept, support partners drive toward customer acceptance of the technical proposal, leading to an agreement, and work with partners during the migration phase to assure they have all the tools necessary to deliver a successful deployment.
- Build trusted advisory relationships and make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with networking (e.g., Linux) including software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration, load balancing, DNS, multicast, or virtual private servers and their application in PaaS and IaaS technologies.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms.
- Experience working with Public Sector clients and stakeholders in Federal agencies.
- Ability to learn, understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Google Cloud/IT technology space.
