Job Summary:
Foster a nurturing and trusting academic environment
Implement the new ELA New Jersey Learning Standards and the WIDA English Language Development Standards in the delivery of daily academic instruction
Establish clear objectives that reflect the standards and bilingual language development methodology
Develop learning activities and use differentiated instruction to address the various types of learners
Use varied assessments to drive instruction
Document and track student performance
Differentiates academic and linguistic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment, including providing literacy intervention strategies
Utilize technology effectively in daily lessons, including gathering and managing student data as required by the district and school administrator
Establish a nurturing and safe learning environment
Highly motivated result-driven educator
Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators and the community.
Performs non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracy
Continues to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences.
Maintains a reflective teaching practice.
Qualifications:
Hold New Jersey Teacher Certifications in Language Arts/Literacy or English with Bilingual/Bicultural Education endorsement
Have excellent bilingual literacy skills in English and Spanish
Working Conditions: Hackensack Middle School
Salary: Per HBOE/HEA Agreement
