Job Description
Supervises the staff and activities in support of an assigned area of Payroll. Provides guidance to staff in problem resolution, process improvement, new site integration and customer service. Oversees payroll issues, while ensuring proper payroll administration.
Job Responsibility
Oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of Payroll applications by using standard project planning methodologies and documentation procedures.
Provides functional expertise during design phase through configuration, testing and upgrades.
Supervises test plans and scripts for implementation of new functionality or modified functionality, using standard project planning methodologies and documentation procedures.
Collaborates with HR Technology to support business operations and satisfy user inquiries, resolve issues, and support applications. This may include modifying or developing new queries and reports, as well as establishing appropriate utilization of new features in upgrade release(s) to maximize operability.
Identifies and makes recommendations for changes that improve team effectiveness. May make recommendations on new processes, tools, and services.
Ensures that payroll data is shown in effective and clear formats for use by management and staff.
Serves as a subject matter expert regarding assigned payroll function and works on various cross-functional site integration teams.
Partners with HR Technology, site HR, Benefits, Corporate Finance and Tax, HR Support Centers and other functions as needed.
Manages data and metrics for both HR and key stakeholders by creating ad-hoc reports to meet client needs.
Collaborates with senior Payroll leadership in the development of methods, techniques, and analytical approaches.
Partners with staff to create payroll application training materials and deliver training to end users, as needed.
Promotes department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
Leads the activities of assigned team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives. Often responsible for managing team members within one assigned function of Payroll department.
Decisions typically relate to schedule, plans, and daily operations. Performs escalated or more highly complex work of a similar nature to that for which they oversee.

Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
4-6 years of prior technical experience, preferred.
0-2 years of prior leadership/management experience, preferred.
