Prince William County Facilities and Fleet Management is looking to hire a seasoned Assistant Maintenance Operations Superintendent to join our existing top-notch team. About This Role: Under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Maintenance & Operations, this position functions in a supervisory role to assure maximum efficiency and safety in designated areas. Supervision is exercised by a number of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance employees. This position is a working manager and is expected to perform maintenance tasks along with their staff to include any related maintenance work as required. The Assistant Maintenance & Operations Superintendent is responsible for the review of all work, taking corrective action on difficult complaints regarding maintenance requests as well as maintaining a high level of professionalism. They are also responsible daily for established work schedules for maintenance personnel for the most efficient and economical methods in handling related maintenance and repair requests. In addition, this position estimates man hour allocations and staffing needs for various tasks and reassign personnel in direct relation to priorities, work schedule, and changes in work conditions. The Assistant Maintenance Operations Superintendent directly supervises and coordinates the activities of maintenance technicians engaged in the setup, installation, repair, and maintenance. This includes providing training on equipment and keeping records. You will be responsible for hiring and training staff and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling are essential. The goal is to ensure that facilities HVAC controls and Equipment are always in a good and safe working condition and operating on a replacement program. He or she will confer with the Superintendent of Maintenance & Operations on major operating problems and will make recommendations for needed changes in the maintenance programs.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 5 years of related experience. We welcome applicants with all levels of education and experience to apply. Preferences: Thorough knowledge of all aspects of buildings to include instrumentation, heating, and ventilation, BMS Controls, electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting. Thorough knowledge or licensing in maintenance/building trades, computer managed maintenance system, building energy management systems is a plus. Special Requirements: A Police Background is required for this position; A pre-employment physical is required for this position. Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Work Schedule: All incumbents in this class are required to provide weekend, evening and holiday coverage as needed. The position is considered as Essential Personnel and incumbent will be readily available for inclement weather, emergency situations and manpower coverage for staff not available. Must be available to respond to emergency phone calls on a 24/7 basis.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE:$70,921.50 - $97,968.00 Annual
