Job Summary
Drexel University Counseling Center (DUCC) has an opening for a full-time staff psychologist to provide direct psychological services to undergraduate and graduate students. The position will be embedded at the student health center, spending time split between there and the Counseling Center, and will work in concert with medical providers and mental health professionals on campus to provide an integrated approach to healthcare and mental health and wellness.
This position is expected to work primarily in-person with opportunities to provide tele-health several times a month.
Essential Functions
- Provide culturally informed individual counseling, group therapy, initial assessments, crisis intervention, and referral services to students.
- Be available to provide brief intervention, drop-in hours, outreach and consultation for Student Health Center primary care patients and referrals.
- Demonstrate commitment, skill and experience in diversity and inclusion programming and clinical expertise in working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations.
- Provide consultation to faculty, staff and administration regarding students.
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups, support groups, and conduct workshops on mental health-related topics.
- May provide supervision to trainees.
- Maintain APA professional ethics in all areas.
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision.
- Attend Counseling Center Staff meetings; divisional meetings as needed.
- Additional tasks as assigned by Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Must be licensed in the State of Pennsylvania or eligible to acquire a license within a year of employment.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students with multiple marginalized identities, international students, and experience working with non-traditional students.
- Excellent culturally informed counseling, crisis intervention and communication skills.
- Good organizational and computer skills.
- Ability to work 1 evening per week.
- Ability to act as back-up while on-call for emergency crisis services a few times a year.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year full-time supervised internship in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting, preferably APA accredited.
- Experience providing personal counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and consultation to late adolescent/early adult population or undergraduate and graduate students in a college or university setting (internship acceptable).

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630 - $93,950 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
