Position Purpose
Art Director leads a team of artists and designers to produce innovative design concepts that deliver on the project’s creative vision.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be an exhibit designer who has the skills and experience to lead, direct, and work with others to create innovative design concepts for luxury entertainment destinations.
They must be collaborative and confident, working closely with project management and the extended design team to produce a design that supports the goals of the guest experience.
- Conceives and develops Exhibit plans and designs and communicates this to the internal team and client.
- Produces sketches and or uses other imagery or models to direct the visual design development
- Directs team of artists, designers, modelers, graphics and showset professionals, scheduling design deliverables, and coaching team members to create exciting and innovative designs.
- With a base knowledge of theatrical and immersive themed entertainment techniques, has a strong architectural sense and understanding of the use of space and how to successfully move people through experiences.
- Possesses the ability to communicate the aesthetic direction for the design to other team members, clients, and consultants.
- Has a familiarity with contemporary methods such as CG-models, photo reference + illustration, and an understanding of environments, perspective, scale, and color.
- Demonstrates an understanding of inclusive, respectful design for a wide variety of guests/end users, grasps ADA and building code and how it applies to exhibit design.
- With strong design communication skills, can read and critique concept architectural design drawings.
- Understanding of current popular software and workflow such as Sketchup, Blender, Revit, 3ds max, Rhino, Lumion, Unreal, Unity and Enscape. Ability to use Revit or Rhino a plus.
- Can work digital design mediums and direct team members through remote virtual methods, and has the ability to work well in a team environment and interface with different departments.
- Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.

Minimum Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in spatial design such as architecture, exhibit design, or interiors.
- 2+ years of experience in exhibit design preferred.
- Experience directing or creating concept art with a Portfolio of Samples that demonstrate abilities.
- 2-5 years of experience directing teams of designers, artists, and creatives.
- Design or Art education in architecture, interiors, themed entertainment, fine arts or comparable.
Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000
