The Emergency Services Logistics & Preparedness Coordinator provides logistical support to all divisional preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts. Supports divisional preparedness training including serving as a leading certified trainer for offered courses. Supports development of preparedness resources, continuity of operations planning, among other resources for Corps preparedness. Serves as a liaison with relevant partner networks including local, state and federal government and non-governmental partners as requested by the Director.

• Assist with all divisional preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts
• Manage all departmental assets including its vehicle fleet
• Maintain knowledge of divisional assets for possible response application (eg. facilities)
• Manage acquisition, inventory, and disposition of all Emergency Services equipment and supplies, warehouse/storage management, management of key vendor relationships, etc.
• Support development of Corps-based preparedness resources and planning
• Develop and implement divisional training plan including the certification of instructors in multiple DHQ departments, Corps, programs, etc.
• Serve as a lead certified instructor for all relevant courses
• As requested, serve as a liaison to multi-sector partners and at government emergency operation centers
• Attend seminars, conferences, courses, and workshops as requested
• As requested, deploy to national/international emergencies in support of response efforts

• College degree in relevant field or 3-5 years’ experience
• Experience with inventory/fleet management and related tracking systems
• Instructor certification in first aid, CPR/AED, Mental Health First Aid, ServSafe and other relevant courses or demonstrated progress toward these certifications
• Knowledge of and experience in emergency management/humanitarian assistance
• Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop emergency plans (eg. continuity of operations, response, crisis emergency risk communication, etc.) and resources
• Experience in training curriculum development for adult learners
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive large vehicles in a dense urban environment
• Ability to handle continuous involvement in a high-stress emergency setting
• Bi/multi-lingual, preferred
• General knowledge of The Salvation Army, preferred
