Patient Careand Safety -Ensures all patients are provided carein a safe environment, freeof hazards.Providesfullattention to thepatient and theprocedure.-Demonstrates knowledgeof AgeSpecific Criteriain carryingout work duties andtasks.-Demonstrates theabilityto address and handle patient care concerns orother problems byutilizingcritical thinkingto analyzeand evaluate causeand affect outcomesand effectivelyimplement solutions.Corrects problems as theyariseand notifies supervisor/manager when assistanceis required to do so.-Correctlyidentifies patients usingapproved identifiers.-Implements allsafetyand fallprecautions and communicates needs with team members through effectivemethods.Recognizes patient distress signs, initiates andfollows emergencyprocedures: nurse/physician, DIURT,CODE.Documents incidents, variances, unusual circumstances or patient concerns and notifies appropriatepersonnel as needed.-Properlyadministers contrast agents, utilizes sterile or aseptictechnique where applicable.Reviews medications and allergies.Follows the five rights ofdrug administration.-Ensures workareas andequipment is safe,clean,organized and appropriatesupplies are available for theprocedures and checklistsare completed (includes emergencysupplies).-Protect patients from ionizingradiation byfollowingALARAandImageGently radiation safetyguidelines, providinglead shieldingwhen applicable and bymonitoring technical imagingparameters.

Required education: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited program by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
Required experience: None.
Required certification: All of the following: Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must obtain Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) through the Texas Medical Board (TMB) within 30 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
