In this role as a Java Back-End Developer, you will be an integral part of our team, driving the development and enhancement of our customer-facing web portal within the insurance domain. Your expertise in Java programming and back-end development will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functionality, performance, and security of our online platform, directly impacting the experience of our valued clients. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers and business stakeholders, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining the robust back-end systems that underpin our mission to provide exceptional service and user experiences in the insurance industry. How you will make an impact:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers and backend developers, to create flawless user experiences.
- Utilize your extensive experience (6+ years) to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in back-end development.
- Design and Develop Microservices: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy microservices that empower our customer-facing applications, ensuring reliability and high performance.
- RESTful API Development: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between front-end applications and back-end services, optimizing data flow and user experience.
- Coding Excellence: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that aligns with industry best practices, coding standards, and security protocols.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks within the back-end infrastructure, enhancing response times and overall system efficiency.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, promoting continuous improvement in the development process.
The experience you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- -6+ years of professional back-end development experience.
- Strong proficiency in JAVA, API, REST, and relevant web/integration technologies.
- Extensive experience with JAVA and its core principles.
- Sound grasp of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Continuous learning keeping pace with evolving tech and trends.

- Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages like Python, Node.JS, etc.
- Experience within the financial or insurance industry.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$118,800.00 - $145,200.00
