Salary Range: $40.93 - $56.44

Position Summary:
The Clinical Applications Specialist reports to the Director of Information Systems.
Responsible for implementation, including design, build, and testing of clinical applications while meeting regulatory requirements.
Works well under stress or tight deadlines.
Establishes and maintains effective, courteous, and respectful working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing staff members, and co-workers.
Position Duties/Responsibility:
Leads the application of appropriate information technology by defining required functionality and objectives.
Provides support to clinical users through knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and practice professional standards when adapting software to meet their needs.
Works with providers and nurses to create or adapt written protocols.
Prepares detailed specifications encompassing clinical processes, information flow, risk, and impact analysis.
Coordinates between Information Systems resources and clinical end-users to communicate and confirm system functionality and usage.
Provides customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Position Qualifications:
Education: High School graduate or GED.
Experience:
Four years of progressive experience supporting clinical and/or financial applications.
One or more years of clinical interface experience preferred.
Certifications: None.
Skills/Ability:
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Safety requirements.
Quality improvement principles.
Maintain records in an organized manner.
Maintain the department’s CMS and California state accreditation.
Establishes and maintains effective, positive working relations with departmental employees, hospital staff, medical staff, and patients.
Assures safe practices and techniques are used in the department.
Communicates policies to hospital and dietary employees.
