RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts analysis using intelligence and information from multiple sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain a range of national security issues and developments that are regional or functional in nature. Provides all-source analytic support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence analytic requirements.
Research and identify areas that could be potentially impacted by climate change; monitor and report on those impacts to include:
oClimate change impacts to foreign critical maritime infrastructure, port and terminal investment, and key maritime chokepoints
oClimate change impacts to seaborne commodity trade flows and maritime economics
oClimate change impacts to foreign naval forces operations and strategies
Author and publish written analytical products focusing on assessed climate change impacts. Production should include independent stand-alone products and, if applicable, contributions to broader products in collaboration with Kennedy Divisions.
Conduct analytic briefings on his or her focused area of expertise when required by the customer or U.S. Government leadership.
Attend conferences and working groups related to associated mission, as needed.
Submit trip reports to Department leadership upon return from working groups, conferences, and analytic-associated travel.
Respond to external and internal customer RFIs as directed by U.S. Government leadership. All responses shall be provided to the U.S. Government team lead for approval before providing responses to the customer.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
Demonstrates ability to define problems, supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
Minimum 20 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
Prior experience/subject matter expertise analyzinggeopolitical or national security oreconomic issues or climate change
Education:
Master’s degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Desired Experience:
Conducts analytic production on the physical characteristics, distribution, circulation of oceans and large seas to determine the impacts of the physical environment.
Analyses military operations and commercial activities including, but not limited to, amphibious operations, such as ship-to-shore operations, logistics over-the-shore, flight operations / power projection from the sea, submarine operations, etc.
Assess meteorological and climatological impacts to operations.
