Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, performs advanced subprofessional engineering, drafting, design, simulation, and computational work.
Performs complex drafting, computational, and design work in the preparation of plans and specifications for County projects.
Prepares designs for water, sewerage, and storm drainage facilities, public buildings and other public works projects.
Interprets construction plans and deeds.
Operates computers and peripheral equipment to perform GIS work and computer aided drafting and design of engineering drawings, plans, and projects.
Computes data used in determining control points and direction of survey parties.
Interprets and plots data obtained by field survey parties.
Assists engineers on survey problems.
Plots property outlines from drawings and deed descriptions.
Performs title searches and prepares legal metes and bounds descriptions.
Prepares maps, drawings, and signs.
Makes field inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
Takes field measurements of existing utility crossings.

Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent
plus
at least six years' subprofessional engineering experience.
Additional qualifying education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to maximum of four years for the required experience.
Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position.
Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
